MULDER AND SCULLY INVESTIGATE THE INEXPLICABLE MURDER OF A CITY OFFICIAL ON AN ALL NEW “THE X-FILES” MONDAY, FEBRUARY 8, ON FOX - ONLY THREE EPISODES LEFT! The X-Files “Home Again” debuts Monday night at 8:00pm ET on FOX. I need more Mulder and Scully, and 6 episodes is simply a tease for fans, so I for one would actually not hate a cliffhanger ending. With only two episodes left in this season, I have to assume the angle of William Scully, and a reunion with his parents is going to come… or at least be a carrot for next season. On one hand, you had the Trash Man story about a killer wax sculpture ripping people apart, but then you had the juxtaposed story of Scully going through horrible loss, and dealing with the desire to reunite with the son she gave up. “Home Again” was an interesting episode because it blended two totally different aspects of The X-Files. From day one of this season, Scully pines for her child, and is convinced the conspiracy has something to do with him. Listening to Trash Man describe the process of bringing art into the world, gives Scully flashbacks to having and giving her baby up for adoption. Mulder does all he can, but the inevitable happens and the acting in that scene is really strong and believable.īack on the heels of the Trash Man, they follow a lead and find an underground artist ( Tim Armstrong), who claims his sculpture of the “Band-aid Nosed Man” is the killer, because of some Buddhist monk ability to transfer consciousness into objects.

These two characters have been through everything together on a personal and professional level. The episode wonderfully combines the crazy X-Files plots we are accustomed to seeing (Trash Man monsters), with a truly emotional side-plot about Scully trying to get closure with her dying mom, and Mulder being there for her. Scully gets a call, her mother had a heart attack and is in the hospital in DC. Mulder and Scully notice a bizarre piece of street art hanging outside the crime scene, but when Mulder investigates the security footage, he sees the street art is new, put up the morning after the murder and signed by the Trash Man. When a mysterious garbage truck follows one of them back to the office, the result is a gruesome murder that no human being could pull off… pun intended… the victim’s body was completely pulled apart by a foul smelling humanoid. are clearing the homeless off the streets to gentrify a neighborhood. On the streets of Philadelphia, members of H.U.D. This episode again forced Scully to deal with uncomfortable personal issues from her past, while an X-Files case is literally tearing it up in the streets. Her and Mulder had a son, and gave him up for adoption to keep him hidden from government involvement. Her mindset this season has been to both calm Mulder’s lunacy all the while being distracted by past choices. She is a scientist, a surgeon, and a skeptic. Scully ( Gillian Anderson) has always been the yin to Mulder’s yang. Thankfully, the horned frog man gave him a much needed boost of confidence.

The new conspiracy detailed in this 6-episode run of the series has laid siege to Mulder’s theories of alien conquest. His office was adorned with “The Truth is Out There” posters, and he told everyone who would listen about witnessing his sister’s abduction. Fox Mulder ( David Duchovny) has been the poster-child for “true believer” since The X-files first debuted in 1993. But what was more important than the creature was the impact on Mulder’s psyche. Last week, the newly reunited Mulder and Scully reminded fans how wacky and insane The X-Files can be, as they squared off with a werewolf-inspired horned frog man.
